Day 8: Return to illha Stoor Vicente (18/01/2020)
Ferry illha Santo Antão
We have already been traveling for 8 days, and although we would continue with the trip without stopping and discovering the many corners that Cape Verde offers us, but because we have to change the island for the plane we have to start our return.
Mindelo
When we arrive in Mindelo, the usual van picks us up to transfer us to the hotel. We repeat the same hotel as our previous stay in Mindelo when we go to Santa Antao. It's about Basic Hotel: https://goo.gl/maps/PJfBqEhFtfLzFwbaA.
Unlike our first stay we had a very good experience, now we have a problem. According to the hotel, they have a reservation of 5 people instead of 7. To which they show a relaxed and passive attitude. It gives us the feeling that they are going to worry little to fix the situation.
As it is lunchtime, we decided to leave our backpacks at the hotel and go eat at a nearby restaurant. While we do business with Gaby. That you quickly send us the reservation made by booking in which the reservation of 7 people clearly appears. When we return, we go to reception and show them our reservation, so they check it on a piece of paper with some pencil tables full of notes.
Once they verify the error on their part, they relocate us to other nearby apartments that are owned by the same owners. Tropicana Apartments and Rooms: https://goo.gl/maps/FudWKepnkyVFiKh18
The room is much fairer than the previous one, especially if we refer to the bed, quite uncomfortable. The bathroom can be seen to have been recently renovated. Gaby has always worried about the incident and seeing that the conditions of the hotel were lower than expected, she offered to find another hotel, saving the difference in price. Without a doubt, I am very grateful to Gaby's attention to this inconvenience.
Praia da Laginha
Once this little misunderstanding is fixed, we rest for a while and get going again, we take a walk aimlessly around Mindelo.
Walking we reach the beach of Praia da Laginha, without a doubt a spectacular beach and completely recommended to visit, it is located 1.2 km from the port of Mindelo. In our case, we arrived at this beach without knowing it and we had no plans to visit it. We arrived at sunset. It is a spectacular beach with white sand and turquoise blue water. Simply spectacular!
I do not know what conditions this beach has during the day to relax or the bathing conditions that can be found in it in case you are interested in enjoying it calmly.
We went back for a walk and finally went to have dinner at La Taverna restaurant: https://goo.gl/maps/aqsrGDimginrUxqN8
We are based on the reviews and scores of google maps, compared to the restaurants in the area. We had to book in advance. The treatment of the spectacular staff, the delicious food, being able to dine with live Capeverian music. Of course, a restaurant that gave me the feeling of being very touristy, which is evident in the prices. I do not know if it is run by local people or by foreign investors as I have seen in other restaurants. They have Wi-Fi and you can make payment by credit card without problem (It is one of the few places that have not given me any problems paying by card)
